As the founder of Pilates in the 6, I have been instructing clients since 2002. 

 I am a Merrithew™ Certified Instructor, since 2002,, specializing in the STOTT PILATES® method. I am an integral part of the Instructor Trainer team, certifying and training new Instructors throughout the world.

Part of my job at Merrithew has been mentoring new Instructor Trainers world-wide ensuring they are teaching the STOTT PILATES Movement System correctly and consistently.

My love of movement grew naturally from my many years of dedicated dance training, (which included being the first Canadian to win the prestigious ‘Miss Dance of America’ title at age 19) As a professional dancer, I had the immense privilege of working with both Broadway and Canadian musical theatre icons in the Tony award winning Mirvish production of ‘Crazy For You’, as well as performing in several other regional musical theatre productions.

As with any elite training, constant wear and tear on joints often leads to a certain amount of strain and even severe injures. My knee injury wasn’t a ‘one door closing’ scenario, instead, I viewed it as,‘another door opening’, as subsequent knee surgery and the rehabilitation that followed, introduced me to the Pilates world. I had found my new passion- one that married movement, biomechanics and total body care with my love of teaching, training and sharing my knowledge of body mechanics. I find great joy in assisting others in reaching their exercise and movement goals; challenging them in ways even they didn’t think were possible

With our Pilates in the 6, Scarborough location, (one of the ‘6’ boroughs of Toronto), you will immediately be enveloped in a spa like experience, with our welcoming scents of essential oils and the close connection with nature through our expansive floor to ceiling studio windows. Within our 384 square foot studio, we provide an extensive array of Pilates exercise equipment, including 2 reformers, a chair, barrels, foam rollers and other smaller equipment. 

 We are Pilates in the 6, where you can simultaneously experience the tranquility of our studio location, while providing your body and mind with a stimulating therapeutic experience like no other.
